Here we are into July, summer is flying by, as expected! It's almost been a month since my last update! At the end of the blog I said my next Alpine Escape Blog would be us finishing off the cabin!!....

Well.. once again it was pushed back a few more weeks. Now we are seeing the light! This week I have been busy ordering away.. and I thought it would be fun to share pictures of what we have picked out, without it being in the cabin, and then in the end you will see how it all comes together!!

Are you ready!? I know we are!!

The final countdown is on!! We are 14 days away from being Tennessee bound with furniture, decorations, and all the fixin's! I hope and pray it will be 9 exciting days that we have waited 18 months for!

I'll start with the updated pictures from our project manager.. the front porch! 😍

We left off on the last blog with the porch framed up for concrete!.. and a few days later..

We have concrete! NEXT.....

ree

ree

Yay! 8"x8" porch post are in place! Tongue and groove ceiling..looking so much better!! 😍 and then we add the glass garage door..

ree

Oh I love it!! ❤️The sides of the door will be wrapped in black metal to match the house!

Yea, I bet you're thinking the same as me..let's see the whole front!?? Well this is all I've seen of it so far too!! As of now the outside metal has been finished ..I'm yet to see it! I ask for pictures and take what I can get at this point!

Since we are talking and looking at our outdoor space.. I'll share some other items that have been purchased to add to it!!

We are in the Smoky Mountains.. it wouldn't feel like home without a little log and black bear decor on the porch would it!? ...

ree

2 Log chairs and a black bear between them will be the perfect place to enjoy your coffee, hot cocoa, wine... whatever your drinking as you gaze at the mountains and/or the lake!

ree

The porch also houses the hot tub I shared in my last blog.. and another added bear touch for the entrance!

If you follow our travel blogs.. you will know there is NO outdoor space complete without a....

ree

I bet you guessed it! A wood burning fireplace!! We chose this style for now to make it easy to finish..and help keep fires from getting out of control. This will be great for now!

That's enough for the outdoor space for now! However, we have more to share and a lot of plans for the future!!

We'll continue on with our tour inside.. room by room as you would walk through our cabin!

Inside the entrance is the living room! ... This rocking chair is so comfy.. I would of never guessed by looking at it.. took a chance and tried it out, perfect size for our space! A log coat rack to go beside the door, and a lamp in case you don't want the can lights shinjng down!

These items all purchased from my favorite store: The Cabin Store in Amish Country Ohio!

A few Amazon items.. some legs for a coffee table we are building.. a rug.. and ceiling fan (was delivered las trip)..

We have also purchased a sofa from Big Sandy's that will be delivered to us next week! A 55" smart TV was purchased this time last year on Amazon prime day 😂.. and was delivered on our last trip!

Update on living space: Concrete floor being finished this week. The garage door beams were fixed! Look much better!

ree

And then we move into the eat- in kitchen!

I have previously shared the appliances purchased.. and the dinnerware.. there's a lot more coming!!! ...

ree

We might as well start with the coffee pot since we are drinking a fresh cup on the porch! I am an everyday coffee drinker.. We stay in airbnb's frequently..one thing that disappoints me is a Keurig.. always a Keurig and no Kcups!! I personally don't drink kcups.. Here I am bringing my bag of fresh ground coffee.. and no way go brew it! 😬At this point my kids are freaking out, "Mom can't drink coffee!"😳.. you would think I would start bringing a kcup container you can fill.. I did purchase one once .. it's now lost..

So.. I made sure to choose a coffee pot for EVERYONE!! You can bring your Kcups if that's what you love! OR you can brew a cup with your ground coffee.. and if that isn't enough, brew a whole pot for yourself, or to share!! Oh yea, did I mention!? Make it iced or hot!! 😘 Your welcome coffee lovers like me! ☕️

Onto the next.. I love to stay in and cook somedays.. and breakfast almost every morning!!.. the kitchen will be stocked.. I'm sure I will forget something.. be sure to let me know!

ree

I was excited to see they are stovetop and oven safe!! Giving lots of options for cooking!

ree

A few more things purchased for the kitchen:

There will be dinnerware, mugs, glass cups, and wine glasses for 6 people! Most things are all dishwasher and microwave safe!

I also have a box of kitchen goodies in storage... who knows what I put in there!? I know that I don't remember what all I had since packing multiple times! 🤪

We are building the dining table! The benches will slide underneath so that it can also function as an island for additional cooking space! Can't wait to share it..the wood top and benches are being built from butcher boards my great grandpa used! I love to add a little history and personalization to our cabin!

We purchased legs for the table and benches:

Pendant light over the kitchen sink:

ree

Update on kitchen: Cabinets being installed Thursday.. countertops next.. want to see what we picked out!? 😍😍😍

ree

Ok.. don't want to give it all away! I need some surprises for the reveal! I know.. after this long I'm having a hard time not sharing everything!! Next you can go into the bathroom or bedroom.. let's start with the bathroom!

I have 2 shelves to go above the toilet built from

Amish rough cut and stained to match the vanity we built!

We also have...

Shower shelves, soap dish, toilet paper holder, towel hooks, mirror and vanity light!

ree

2 Laundry hampers that will be stored under the vanity, and on wheels to easily roll over to the washer! One for towels and one for clothes!

Update on bathroom progress: tile floor, shower floor is done.. metal was ordered going in this week!

Ok.. sorry, that is enough on the bathroom for now too! 😜

Now we are into the main bedroom! ....

Of coarse, we have a KING BED!!

ree

I am a little leary on the mattress!! I love a soft medium mattress.. forms to your body, but doesn't swallow you whole! Can't stand a firm mattress.. we are buying online going by reviews and reading airbnb pinterest blogs! 😬 With that being said.. I really hope they are comfy!! If not.. 4.5 stars with 19,000+ reviews is not helpful! 😂 After hours of searching and reading reviews.. I chose the same mattress for all 3 beds! They are hypoallergenic!

ree

A little art work to hide the electric box, black out curtains for those who like to sleep in, and wall sconce lights for those who like to read!

Yea, I like to blog, but I really don't like to read.. there is a 32" smart TV on the wall at the foot of the bed for Netflix binges.. Not me on my vaca but I know some love TV more than others! No, I don't really watch TV either.. I know .. weird to some! Don't forget I have 3 amazing kids.. I never stop until I crash! 2 boys getting older.. I'm in the kitchen ALL day 😅 Anyway, I'm trying to think of others in my design.. not just myself! 😂

Well that is the main level of our 24' x 24' cabin! We have one more stop! Up the black metal spiral staircase to the loft!!

What will you find here!? For our family this is the space for our 3 kids! So kid friendly, but also great for adults too!

2 Queen beds...

ree

A headboard on each side of the loft window. There will be plenty space under the beds for storage containers!

A circle rug, bean bag chair, and mountain view! Wooden tic tac toe game to pass some time. This has always been a favorite game of my boys while waiting for dinner at restaurants! A lamp to go between the beds with USB ports.. a partial solution to my problem of the outlets being behind the beds!

My plan is to make one corner of the loft a sitting area with a soft rug, wooden toys/kids books/board games. The opposite corner, I'm sure the boys will find a compact multi-gaming table of some sort!! Hayden is trying to talk David into one of the 2 person arcade tables with 60 games!! We'll have to wait and see what happens here... if not right away.. I see one in the future 😉!

AND... that is the end of the Alpine Escape tour for now!! We are so so excited to have all of this, and be getting ready to bring it all together!!

I am most excited to be ready to share our vacation home with all of you, and hear about memories made from spending time together!

Stay tuned as I will be sharing the airbnb link really soon! and a facebook page for everyone to share photos during their stay at #bettingeralpineescape

See you soon!!
