Good evening all! We left Palatka, FL this afternoon around 4:30pm. We were in Florida for a national ATV race for Hayden! Now we are about half way between the Florida and Georgia tracks; the Georgia race is next weekend!
Anyway for all you campers out there we are hanging out here at the Creekfire Resort in Savannah, Georgia until Thursday!! We are hoping to have a fun few days ahead!
MONDAY

7:50PM We arrive here at the Creekfire Resort! It is dark so we can’t see a lot, but what we can see looks like a nice, clean, well maintained campground!!
Check-in was easy! Found our lot 110, back in…. level up.. slides are out.. concrete pad so easy set up. We need electric.. it is 80 degrees in here! 🥵
BBBZzzzZz .. What was that!? David ask do we have power?.. umm No? and what was that noise?? The plug looks burnt.. that isn’t good. Put the adapter on it and try the 110 outlet.. kicks it right away. hmm.. is it our camper??
Turn on the generator.. everything powers right up as usual.. the neighbor is trying to help.. nothing working.
Time to call the campground urgent number, the office closed at 8pm. We will send someone right over! Within a few minutes a guy shows up on a gulf cart. Checks things out. We believe it is their power box on this pole.
We need to move you.. slides back in, jacks back up.. make sure everything I was moving is re-secured... and over to lot 76 we go. Not far from where we were, across the loop.
99% of the time we plug the camper in before we do any of the above.. but that 1 time we didn’t!
Back right in, check power before we do anything else. It works!!! Yay!! The service was quick and they made things right pretty quickly! Now we can set up to stay!
Well, we are all hungry..the trip took longer than we planned, adding almost 2 hours getting our camper hitch replaced on Florida earlier this afternoon! It cracked on the way to Florida and we didn’t realize it until we went to hook up to leave today!
Originally 2 hrs 45 minutes we would of been to the campground by 5:30pm! And then set up just took an hour, that should of been 10 minutes.. everything holding us up today we forgot to grab ice to restock the cooler when we fueled up.. our water is getting warm...
There are restaurants about 1.5 miles down the road.. let’s go see what we can find to bring back to the camper.. and grab a bag of ice to restock the cooler.
Everything here closes at 8PM! I mean it is a Monday BUT really 8PM? Oh there‘s a Dunkin how about donuts for supper.. Nope they are closed to! It is now 10:00PM .. search pizza.. pizza places always open late! 10 pizza places show up within 10 miles.. ALL CLOSED. ok…
Well there’s diesel for $4.77!! Fill it up because truck stops with the camper are all $5.00 - $5.29!! Thank you Brandon!!
OK so what is open? Applebees is open! and the Waffle House.. that’s what our choices are kids!? Kids yell Applebees chicken wing chicken wing…. !! Order for pick up please… take it back to the campground with us.
Still didn‘t get ice when we got diesel 🤣 There was a gas station right up here.. CLOSED now.. well our campground is right there? U turn.. back around to the gas station beside the Applebee’s.. 2 bags of ice and lets get back to the camper!!
We are back.. chow down! Showers because we are all so dusty, dirty, sandy, from the track! And the boys are ready to crash for the night!!
We are going to get a good night rest and pray for a good day to swim tomorrow!! And an evening out in downtown Savannah is sounding great!
GOODNIGHT 💤
TUESDAY
Good morning!! The sun is shining bright and it is another hot sunny day! ☀️
This morning isn’t quite vaca time yet.. Well for David anyway.. the original plan cleaning would of been done on Monday afternoon/evening.. but we are on a trip with no set plans .. a few bumps taking up some time...
SOo David starts his day off cleaning almost everything we brought with us.. race bike, stock bike, race gear, chairs are so dusty and dirty, food spilled on them.. grill and tables are covered in dust.. and so on…

Luckily David has a few really good helpers! Hayden’s pit crew..
where’s Hayden!? On his Giant checking out the campground..looking at the pool he’s ready to go swimming.. looking for gators in the lake across the road.. all fun no work.. actually this trip David has volunteered to take on all the cleaning work so the kids can play.. Luke and Lynlee consider playing in the water fun! Hayden don’t think twice.. he’s gone!
Thankfully, it’s sunny so chairs and gear are drying quickly!
I mixed up homemade waffles and sausage for breakfast! There’ll be left over waffles to freeze for later in the week!
For the few hours David was cleaning.. The rest of us decided to check the place out!
Luke, Lynlee, and I planned on taking the stroller for a ride… OH NO! the front wheel won’t turn again.. it will only go straight.. looks like we have NO stroller for the rest of this trip.. this 2 seater bicycle trailer/stroller is the only thing that helps me survive on these trips! It did break the end of 2021.. David thought he had it fixed.. looks like another broken thing to fix when we get home .. 😒🤯
We still have back up.. Lynlee in the carrier and Luke on his Stacyc .. let’s go! 😅 Lynlee girl is getting a little heavy for this carrier!
Here is the campground map so you have an idea about where we are… lot 76! We are on the side by the lake so it’s about a 5-10 minute walk over to the main pools and activity area.

We start walking down around the round about and across to check out the pools and playground area… this is definitely gator territory on each side of the road from one section to the other..

We want to see one.. in the distance of coarse not up close!

All swamp on both sides.. and in the trees behind our camper! Well… we don’t see any gators here.. Hayden says he saw 2 swimming in the lake! 🐊 Did he really 🤔
The campground is one of the nicest, cleanest we’ve seen! If you’re looking for a resort type campground with all the amenities!
The main pool and hot tub was open, but pool bar and the rest of the water fun isn’t open yet…
and then we make a stop at the playground..
Loved seeing the merry go round and see saw like we had on the playground when I was in school! The boys thought they were fun!
Hayden found a 4 wheeler.. 🤯 he was kicked off of it in a minute.. don’t be breaking the kids toys.. How old are you!? you out grew that years ago boy!
David and Hayden took their e-bikes on the bike trail around the lake.. they did see a couple gators pretty close up!! David didn’t have his phone to snap any pics. It was a nice trail to ride!
Ok the clouds are clearing and it’s getting 🥵 Let’s go swim!!
1:00pm we are finally ready to chill poolside.. well I dropped David and the boys off.. Lynlee and I took a drive across the road to check out the Black Riffle Coffee Company and Nine Line Apparel!

Today I was feeling like a Betsy Ross.. Blackberry White Chocolate Iced Latte… YUM!! 😋 and I found a few sweet t-shirts .. but none in a medium.. I even ask if they had some in the back.. 😔 So back to the pool with my coffee for the afternoon..

We had a nice afternoon of relaxing pool time… well it would be much more relaxing if Lynlee could fit into floaties!! We have a boat baby float.. “don’t like it” she says.. 😒
Lynlee girl needs a nap if we are going out this evening! .. and of coarse I need the longest time to shower and get everything together for tonight.. Her and I head back to the camper .. the boys get to swim a little longer!
She’s out like a light! .. and I say that because I’ve repeatedly said this girl don’t need sleep to survive like we do! 😅 Momma is thankful nicer weather is on the way so she will wear herself out outside!! Maybe I’ll be able to get her bedtime back to 9:00pm rather than 11:00pm sometime this summer 🤣.. Not going to bet on it but just maybe!
5:00pm We are ready to head to downtown Savannah to walk around and find a good place for dinner..it’s about a 20 minute drive from the campground to downtown.
I used the link below while planning where we should park and which areas would be good for us in the short amount of time we have here.. We only have the few hours this evening to explore downtown.
We found a parking garage near the City Market so we could walk through City Market and then across the street to check out River Street. Those were the main areas that I had found good for restaurants and walking with our kids.
City Market

We were wanting Paula Deen’s for dinner since our New Year’s trip to Townsend.. We found her first restaurant to open here in Savannah. We walked through city market and then over to Lady & Sons for dinner!

It is in historic downtown which makes it a little more unique than going to a newly built restaurant in Pigeon Forge. Similar menu though. The kids thought the elevator was so cool with the fancy wood
work and mirrors inside.. not like an elevator you find anywhere today.

Dinner was quick and amazing.. of coarse the kids favorite was dessert. Ooey Gooey Butter Cake 😋.. but not for Luke, he went for Banana Pudding dessert.
After dinner we walked back towards City Market and found a well lit street to walk down to River Street which is known as Plant Riverside District. It was only across 2 streets then down a few flights of steps..
Plant Riverside District
There are a few riverfront restaurants and hang outs along the river.. a nice place for an evening stroll and unwind for adults.
The street behind the riverfront walk is lined with historic buildings full of shops and more restaurants. There’s a Black Rifle Coffee shop with the Nine Line Apparel.. I went looking for a medium in a T-shirt .. Does everyone buy mediums!?
This isn’t a great place for my kids that think they have to do something thrilling all the time! We knew it was more of an adult chill and unwind kind of place.
River Street Shops
We didn’t spend as much time as we planned walking the streets.. As I mentioned earlier the stroller broke.. so Luke is whinning..
How much farther are we walking? When are we going back to the camper?
And we are taking turns carrying Lynlee.. and letting her walk.. but it’s not easy to get around…really missing the stroller this would of been much better night!! It’s 9:00pm let’s just head back now.
We head back to the truck which isn’t far maybe a five minute walk..
We put Lynlee in the truck.. and we only have 1 croc 😒.. crocs and her tennis shoes is all we have on this trip.. we just bought the crocs 2 days before left!
David and Hayden take off tracing our path in hopes to find it.. Luke isn’t walking any further! so I stay at the truck with him and Lynlee.
…10 minutes later David and Hayden return with the croc! Yay! They found it laying outside the Black Rifle Coffee shop along the curb of the road 😅
Back to the camper to rest up for tomorrow!!
GOODNIGHT💤
WEDNESDAY
Good Morning!! Well… the sun isn’t shining bright today.. and it is not 80 🥺, high of 63 and windy, A lot of rain and severe storms in the forecast for today. ⛈
I am up early to get the laundry going! I have been enjoying my time, but we’ve been gone from home for 6 days! I should of done stinky race laundry way before now (that was in Monday’s plan before multiple other issues came up)! Thankfully, laundry is right across the round about.. and there’s plenty washers/dryers to get it all going at once! They have a giant wash tub sink that I spent an hour, and a whole bottle of stain remover scrubbing before washing! And then cleaned the sink after my kids cloth’s destroyed it! There are 8 washers and dryers in the laundry where we are. Pic below is laundry room that is beside the main pool.

After a couple hours of laundry it’s time to enjoy the day!!
Our plan is to make a visit to Tybee Island, but we dunno with the weather if that is worth it 🤔. We searched for other indoor options. There is a Fun Zone— Go Kart track about 10 miles away at the Pooler exit, but it is closed.. and all kid friendly attractions are closed as it is a weekday and off season. The Tanger Outlets are in the same area.. Kids have their big eyes and scared faces,
PLEASE NO! PLEASE don’t make us go to the outlets!!
I wouldn’t mind checking out the outlets.. BUT I would rather go stand on the beach in a thunderstorm than take 3 kids and my husband to the outlets! Not even for a quick stop.. Nope, not even in my plans!
We decide to take the chance drive over to Tybee Island, surely we’ll find something to do! I’m in search of coffee on the way..
A little over 40 minutes to drive to Tybee Island..

You drive through a little of downtown Savannah to get to Tybee Island.. My kind of city.. ❤️ the tree lined roads ..
So pretty …the buildings and homes… I could drive up and down the streets just looking!
The drive to Tybee Island across the marshes 😍 …
Our first stop .. The Shops at Tybee Oaks! This is a really neat beachy shopping area!
They have a coffee shop .. the Tybean Art and Coffee Bar!? Sounds interesting…CLOSED at noon 30 😒 What, you only drink coffee until 12:30 on the island!? 😩

And of coarse the boys are in the back seat…
This isn’t the beach!?
I know.. I know.. we were going to get treats but they are closed.. so we head back out … Definitely a place I’d like to come back to on a “time to myself“ day!
I didn’t get any good pictures of the cute shed shops so here is a good you tube video to show you around:
We drive on down to the Tybee Island pier area and find public parking. We can check out the beach, the pier, and the the street right behind has shopping and dining!
First … the beach! It is windy.. cloudy.. and cool but the kids don’t care!..
A little football throwing.. sea shell hunting.. Luke & Lynlee bird chasing.. Hayden is name writing.. playing around for a little bit.. then of coarse I tried a little photo shoot with the pier because it was picture perfect!

and Lynlee she had her first beach experience at 8 months.. she loves the sand!

We check the radar and the giant green splotch is coming our way shortly… so we head up to walk out the pier..

This must be low tide so it isn’t real far out right now.. A few people fishing but that’s about all. Ice cream and other little shops on the pier are closed.
We want to check out the street of shops and restaurants to decide what we are having dinner tonight. It is not a 5 star fancy place.. but we like it.. a nice small FRIENDLY beach town! Quiet this time of the year.
The usual souvenir shops, ice cream, and all the fun vacation goodies! I got my shot glass with Tybee Island on it to add to my collection (that’s usually the most shopping I do on vacation😂)
I’m at the ocean so I want fresh yummy fish tacos 🤔

Yep, we found amazing fish tacos with huge chunks of fish compared to what I usually find! 😍 Highly recommend some Fannies on the Beach if your around Tybee Island! The staff are very friendly and helpful as well! And the sweet tea 🤤(settled for tea since I couldn’t find coffee!)
Their menu is full of things that I wanted to try! Quite a few unique fixins‘!
Luke’s orneriness .. 😂🤣.. I can’t..

They just hopped up there for a picture.. Really we ate a table together.. It is covered with paper for the kids to draw... yep, plenty of space and they were still fighting over their space. Coloring on each others to make the other mad.. 🤪🙄

There‘s the sprinkles.. rain is moving in! We are glad we made the decision to check out Tybee Island even with the not so great beach weather! It’s only 5:30pm but we are going to head back towards the campground. Looks like the rain might miss Creekfire!!

I have another fun stop in mind back in Savannah.. We’ll let the kids find out when we get there!
..about a 20 minute drive back to Leopold’s Ice Cream!! Open since 1919 and some flavors unchanged since 1919!

This is in downtown so there is no where to park.. there is street parking but this place is happening! I had read reviews to expect to wait.. Hayden, Luke, and I jump out of the truck at the red light to wait.. David can drive around until we get our ice cream!
We only waited maybe 10 minutes.. there was a line but it moved pretty quickly!
We get our ice cream and stand out front with our thumbs up waiting on David to circle back around! There he is.. just stop in the road and reload 🤷🏼♀️!
The ice cream is YUM!! We all had something different and tasted each of them 😋 Luke is famous for getting Mint chocolate chip, Hayden, it must be a hot fudge sundae with brownie.. David a chocolate chip cookie sandwich, and I had to try the unchanged since 1919 Rum Bisque!
and another 20 minutes to drive back to Creekfire for the evening!
The rain is missing us here for now.. Luke has been waiting for a fire.. Hayden wants to go on a night swim..

David, Lynlee and Luke get a fire going.. Hayden and I walk across gator land at night to get to pool 😳 The street is well lit but not being familiar with gatorland we had our eyes wide open looking all directions!

I’m chilling in the hot tub while Hayden is swimming… maybe 15-20 minutes…
Here comes the rest of the clan.. (I expected that is what would happen!) Luke wants to swim to!
Luke stoked up the fire so it would be good until we got back. Thankfully, the wind isn’t blowing and it‘s a nice calm evening!

A nice relaxing night swim then back to the camper to start cleaning up head out tomorrow. We have really enjoyed the area and wish we had another day!
That’s all for tonight! Goodnight! 💤
THURSDAY
Good Morning! Another gloomy cloudy cool day! It’s going to get colder as the day goes on! Currently in the 60s .. quickly dropping into the 50s by this afternoon.
Back in Ohio we are getting a nice winter storm, and the tail end of that is making it unusually cold here to 😒 AND we aren’t prepared! It was supposed to be in the 70s this weekend when we left home last weekend 😬 Now we are looking at 30s and 40s! 🥶 We will make do with what we have at this point!
We have a nice breakfast.. some homemade waffles we froze from Tuesday morning, yogurt and fruit.
Boys take a bike ride around, and I am packing up the inside of the camper while David finishes up the outside to head out soon.
I realized I never did take a pic of the awesome lot set ups here… so we got one as we are packed up and ready to roll on to Washington Georgia for The General GNCC this weekend!!

The view from the front..

They also have restaurant with outdoor fire pit on the lake! We didn’t get to try it, but would be in our plans if we get to return!

It was much prettier when the sun wash shining! A very nice, clean, resort campground! We definitely want to come back again!
12:00PM we are headed out on a 2 hour 50 minute drive to the track! See you again soon as we prepare for this freezing temps with summer clothes!! 🥶
