It’s the middle of July, and we are taking advantage of these summer weekends!! I could just live in my camper all summer.. or even longer if I had a little more space! It’s so easy to keep clean compared to the house.. and it truly gives us more time to just slow down...ok, so we don’t really slow down much but we enjoy the days outdoors!

FRIDAY

This weekend we are off to Lake Park Campground in Coshocton, OH! There’s more rain in the forecast, but hopefully it won’t be the entire weekend. Click to check out Lake Park

This picture of the entrance was actually the next day.. Friday afternoon when we rolled in .. it was pouring the rain! Raining so hard that we backed into out lot then waited about 20 minutes in the truck! Thankfully it was a hard rain that didn’t stick around long! A quick set up.. maybe 20 mins.. we have electric and water hook ups but no sewer this weekend. That’s not a problem since we are only staying 2

nights.

Hayden has been on this fishing mission lately .. so he is getting his rod and bait ready to go! There is a few areas to fish here.. there’s a Lake Park Basin right at the campground or you can take the paved walking/bike trails over to the Rosco Basin to fish. The Walhonding River flows around the campground as well. It was pretty high and flowing pretty swiftly with all the rain we’ve had.

He started off fishing in the Lake Park Basin… he didn’t have any luck here this evening..

We strolled around the campground and Luke checked out the awesome wooden playground.

The boys love all the miles of paved biking trails to ride. I love that it connects to Rosco Village! Our plan for tomorrow afternoon is exploring Rosco Village and having dinner at one of the restaurants over there. I’ll be up heading to the general store first thing in the morning for coffee beans! I’m out of coffee 😳!

The biking trails are relaxing to cruise around on…

AND the storms are back for the evening so in the camper we are for the night!! ✨

SATURDAY

Rise and Shine … I need coffee ☕️! On go the leggings with a t-shirt, hair in a ponytail with a hat and we are good to go! Lynlee is going with me for a stroller ride while the boys go fishing, ride bikes, whatever they decide for the morning..

We are off to Rosco village to find coffee beans! It’s a pretty stroll across the paved trail around the basins, over the wooden bridge that crosses the Walhonding River, through the tunnel under the highway.. over to the village. I enjoy walking down the brick sidewalks (however they aren’t real stroller friendly in some areas) just wandering around.

First stop was the general store for Pecan coffee beans 🤤.. then over to McKennas market to pick up amish cheese, potato salad, pasta salad.. a few things for our lunches! I’m not well stocked in the camper this weekend since we had a short week to clean up from last weekend, work a few days and then repack. I wasn’t to worried about food since I knew McKenna‘s market was in walking distance! And there’s a Walmart in 1-2 miles?

There is a map that helps you see where to go as you are walking by the parking lot of Rosco Village.

It is looking like more rain rolling in here… I better head back before we end up drenched! I’m about 3/4 of the way back to the camper and it starts to drizzle… maybe I should run!? I don’t mind getting wet really, but the stroller and my food I’d rather not have wet! Mostly thinking wet coffee beans wouldn’t be a good thing! 😅

We make it back to the camper just in time for a downpour of rain.. it’s ok.. we’ll have lunch and make coffee until the rain passes!

Hayden had been fishing in the Lake Park Basin and they tried the Rosco Basin .. no luck yet.. not 1 fish! Luke had been cruising around on his stacyc on the bike trails.

Although it has rained a good bit.. at least our lot isn‘t flooding as it did last weekend at Akron/Canton Jellystone! The rain passes after an hour or so… It is only noon.. the boys decide they want to walk over to Rosco Village to. The rain looks like it is done until later this evening so we‘ll take the chance walking..

There’s a beautiful view looking up and down the Walhonding river from the wooden bridge… I KNOW I took pictures of it.. and so did David.. but we can’t seem to find them to share 🤔 maybe it was a snap chat that I forgot to save!? I dunno but I’m positive I had many more pictures for this blog that are MIA?! 😔

The boys wanted to go back to McKenna‘s market .. yep you prob guessed it.. Ice cream, cookies, and fry pies was on their list.. mom didn’t bring any of that back earlier!?

We strolled around maybe an hour and that was enough for them to see! Time to head back to the camp ground.. Hayden wants to fish all afternoon.. he hasn’t caught one fish yet but he’s determined he will!

He’s went back and forth, Lake Park Basin, Rosco Basin…

Still not one fish to be caught… however, I was taking a bike ride around the basins when I saw a family pointing over the bridge crossing the Walhonding River…

Do you see the snake 🐍!? Black on the right side of the stump with the head towards the end 🥴 I HATE snakes … I looked long enough for a picture to show the boys and off I was on the bike!

Luke wants to go to the playground.. Lynlee and I head over with him. Across from the playground there is a woman with bags sitting at a picnic table under one of the pavilions ..honestly I thought she was setting up for a party! I say hi, she starts yelling “what are you looking at, this is what happens when you don’t have a house 😳” sorry! I wasn’t looking that close but once she yelled I noticed a car seat with a baby and other personal belongings.

We walked on over to the playground but I could still see/hear her. I wasn‘t sure if she could be harmful or not, she seemed pretty hostile so we moved on for the minute. I then overhear a phone conversation about someone coming to pick her up.. thankfully for her and the baby it wasn’t too long before someone was there to pick them up. This was a first experience like this for us in a campground. You want to help, but also have to keep your kids safe!

It’s been a day with off and on rain.. fishing .. playing in dirt/mud! We are going out for dinner tonight in Rosco Village so we better head back to the camper for a shower and clean clothes!

The radar is showing more rain coming .. we decided to drive over tonight so we don’t get stuck walking in the rain!

ree

We decided to try out The Warehouse Steak n’ Stein. Food was really good! Steak salad kind of night for me 😋

There are many more things to do in Rosco Village to explore the history, however Hayden had just had a school field trip here .. and we had a lot of rain so we didn’t do much besides walk around and shop! The canal boat was one of Hayden’s favorites on his field trip!

We walk around a little more but places are starting to close now. We are all tired and ready to head back to the camper for a movie or maybe just go to bed! Tomorrow is looking like a hot sunny day finally! Goodnight ✨

SUNDAY

Good Morning!! The sun is shining bright!! ☀️ Looking like a great day to swim at the aquatic center that is right beside the campground!

We have to checkout by 11 or something so we pack up the camper. Packing up doesn’t take too long as we haven’t had much out with a the rain! David pulls the camper over to the parking area of the aquatic center and the kids are ready to swim! There is an admission fee into the aquatic center that isn’t included with camping.. however we thought it was cheap to camp here so it wasn’t bad!

Once again I know I took pictures of the kids swimming but they seem to be missing to 😔.. maybe someday I’ll find them so I can add them!?

We enjoyed the afternoon swimming and soaking up all the sunshine after the rainy week we’ve had! and by the way.. Hayden fished for HOURS and never did catch anything here…

A few hours later we were on our way out.. dump our tanks and head home to clean up the camper!

We get one weekend off to clean and pack for our Westgate Smoky Mountain trip!! The camper gets a break! The mountains are calling… ⛰❤️
