Wow! Here it is July already!! We are all excited for a camping trip that involves some swimming, putt putt, playgrounds and all the fun activities!
We have a family celebration in the northern Ohio area so we decided to make a weekend trip! We have been wanting to go back to the Jellystone on Millrun, PA, but that hasn’t fit into our schedule so we found one a little closer!
On Friday afternoon we will be headed to The Akron/Canton Jellystone! We are staying Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night!
Friday
It‘s Friday afternoon as we roll out on our way for a weekend full of excitement!! It’s a little chilly this evening .. so we tell the boys, sorry, but we better wait until tomorrow to swim… after some squabbling about the temperature Hayden decided it would be a fun night to putt putt. Well I’m glad we got that settled before we pull into the campground 😅
Checking into campgrounds is pretty simple … we get our arm bands for admission into the Clear Water Park. There are 2 sections of this campground; a main road goes between the sections. We are on the same side as the water park and recreation center.
We back into our full hook up lot! Yay! Full hook ups this weekend and no generator running 😅! 10 mins later we are set up for the weekend!

Hayden and Luke are impatiently waiting on David to unload their bikes from the hauler so they can cruise around to check out the campground.
There are tons of games / activities for the kids! Very nice playground, slides, jump pad, bike track, RC track, Gaga ball pit something !? There is plenty to do for all ages! Click here to see all of the amenities/activities!
Luke went to the tube slides first! They were faster than we thought! Lynlee girl has no fear..
After checking out the playground and recreation area we moved onto Putt Putt!
Hayden is all in trying to get the best score.. Luke is throwing his club and ball into the water, and trying to mess up Hayden’s game. 🤦🏼♀️ Lynlee is chowing down on snacks in the stroller for now, but I’m sure that won’t last long.
Oh yea David and I are playing too!..in between making sure we still have all 3 kids in sight and Luke isn’t losing his ball or club.. or in the middle of the coarse swiping other people’s balls.
We thought Luke wanted to play, I dunno what this stunt is he is trying to pull 😒.. so we take his club and ball, and he has to sit out a few holes.
This is a fun mini golf coarse with a few different challenges! The swinging pole above blocked David’s ball from going in the first time .. and of coarse Luke is back to interfering.. he is about to be done for good! 😒 It was only 1 or 2 holes later and he’s done for the night.
We made it to the end! I think Hayden won.. David is prob second and I am last.. there is not much concentration on my end but it was a fun game!
We head back to the camper to get supper going, and Luke’s fire going for the evening.
I would share a recipe but I don’t really have one.. I just throw some things together and it’s interchangeable many ways.. I use chicken or streak, noodles or rice, any vegetables, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, hoisin sauce.. really whatever you like!
Tonight we are going easy with it all cooked in a cast iron skillet on the grill. Melt butter in the skillet, chop up some chicken breast, and cook it. While the chicken is cooking I chopped up a Zuchinni and onion to toss in with the rice noodles at the end. Sauced it all up with Teriyaki sauce 😋 and can’t forget the Yum Yum sauce 🤤.
No, my kids wouldn‘t eat such a thing! They have plenty of hot dogs to cook on the fire, grilled cheese for the pie iron, or their famous peanut butter oatmeal. 🤷🏼♀️ I can‘t survive on the food they eat so I sacrifice and make 2 meals. Yea some say kids eat what you make or they don’t eat.. I’ve never really felt that way I guess .. I do make them try different things but if they don’t like it I’m not going to force them and argue every night over food it’s just not worth the battle to me.. I have to chose my battles for a lot of other things on the daily!
It’s a beautiful night around the fire .. s’mores for dessert 🔥🍫✨🌙
Saturday
Yay! It’s Saturday morning.. let’s go swimming!! 🥶 it’s a little cool outside, but hopefully it’ll warm up! The boys don’t mind the cool temps they just want to swim!
Before we can take off to swim I wanted to have one of our favorite breakfast! Homemade Cabin Waffles (made GF) topped with butter, warmed syrup, honey Greek yogurt, berries, & coconut whipped cream (any fruit mixture is good, add lots of other toppings to: choc chips, nuts, coconut.. possibilities are endless!) 😋 David takes the boys and Lynlee for a bike ride while I’m getting food ready. They never want to sit at the camper with me while I cook there’s much better things to do! 🤷🏼♀️

Usually I make my homemade cabin waffles at home.. let them cook then stick them into freezer bags to be frozen. Then we just grab a bag to go when we are packing for a trip.. throw them in the toaster for an easy quick camping breakfast! We’ve been on so many trips recently I’m fresh out; so we’ll make a whole batch today to be prepared for our upcoming trips!

They are back just in time to eat!

Lynlee loves bike rides!! You say bike ride and she’s repeating “bike” with her arms up and ready to go!

It’s only a few minute walk up to the Clear Water Park..the boys take off on their bicycles to get there faster.. but they can‘t get in without supervision 🤷🏼♀️
You can tell the pool area has is older but redone and kept very clean. They have a concession stand and homemade ice cream made on-site! Flavors vary 😋
….. run … jump in fast 🥶… the boys say the water is cold!
a little dad & son race… who do you think wins!??
👀 at that… it’s a close one but dad wasn‘t getting beat! 😂
Hayden spent hours on the coarse.. he tried real hard to get me to race him to.. I tried to swim but the water is just 🥶 I can‘t do it today.
Luke and Lynlee were having a blast over at the kids slides!
A few hours of swimming and they are ready to hang out at the playground.. Hayden has been all about playing Gaga ball with the kids he’s met at the campground this weekend. He even talked David into playing with them! 🤣
Lynlee loves the jump pad!!
Luke had a blast climbing on the play ground. Hayden joined in on the kickball game the activities department directed!
There’s so many activities and areas to play .. all ages of kids! We didn’t have near enough time to do everything.
We head back to the camper to start another fire for Luke.. we know it’s going to rain tomorrow and we will be visiting with family so we’ll enjoy the evening relaxing some… maybe… Lynlee’s at that chase me around fun stage 😅 Let’s see how long she’ll play in her chair while I attempt Zucchini Lasagna on the grill!
The Lasagna turned out awesome on the grill! 😋 and we’ll have left overs for tomorrow evening when it’s pouring the rain as the forecast is predicting!

Hayden played Gaga ball with the kids until dark.. the rest of us enjoyed the fire for the evening!
SUNDAY
Yea…. Looks like it’s raining… and raining.. breakfast is inside today! Looks like more waffles! We’re going to switch it up.. add Peanut butter, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to our Greek Yogurt and top with Bananas! Yum!
We have breakfast and get ready to head out for the afternoon!
Our view from the camper around noon 😳🌧

Rain … Rain … Rain a lot of rain!!
We enjoyed our family visit!! We were gone most of the day.. it was still raining when we returned to the campground and the water was up into the gravel! We could still get into our main door thankfully.. and the power was out. Thankfully we have an onboard generator to fire up so we could warm up our lasagna!
TV kinda night and off to bed!! Tomorrow is looking like the nicest dat of the weekend.. since we aren’t far from home we decided to hang out at the campground another day.
MONDAY
The kids are up early ready to swim… most of our outside camping chairs/bikes were already packed up yesterday due to the rain. A quick pack up and dump the tanks so we can check out. David ask the office if there was parking for us to stay for the day. Of Coarse no problem! He pulled the camper across the road into the parking lot for the water park; parking along the back side. Easy to walk to if we need snacks throughout the afternoon!
The sun is shining bright and it is warmer than it has been .. but still cool for me! The water really is 🥶after all the rain! We had a relaxing afternoon swimming and enjoying their homemade ice cream 1 more time!

We spent another few hours swimming.. then off to gem mining before we head home.
The boys enjoy looking at different color/shape rocks.. at home they always digging up rocks looking for something unique.. and gem mining is something we’ve never really tried at places.. mainly because it’s a pre-purchased back of gems and they’d rather dig to find rocks. But today we are going to try it out!
They did have fun using the picture guide to determine which types of gems they had in their bags.

That’s a wrap for this trip! We are home bound to clean up and repack to head out again on Friday to Lake Park!
