We‘ve made it to April!! We are headed out for round 5 of the 2022 GNCC Camp Coker Bullet! The last race in South Carolina!! 😎☀
The weather is looking warmer than the last few races! Sunshine during the day, a little wind and cooler in the evening. NO rain in the forecast so let’s go GNCC Racing!!
THURSDAY
Luke’s day isn’t starting out so great. In the past week we have all suffered from the stomach virus going around.. He is the last to get it, and it started at 10pm last night.. he is home from school today and doesn’t want to go anywhere! Can’t say I blame him we all know how miserable that is!

We will let him sleep it off… hopefully the worst of it is over .. however, I’m pretty tired myself being up with Luke cleaning the puke laundry so we wouldn’t be leaving a mess! OH, and my burb because he tried to drink water when we took Hayden to school.. nope didn’t stay down long 😕 .. I didn’t figure it would since it hadn’t been at least 12 hours.. but we tried and he was so desperate for water I just couldn’t say no.
Hayden is getting his school day in while we scramble to make sure laundry is clean, camper is packed, and whatever else needs done!
We love Camp Coker race! The property is so well kept/maintained with nice fishing ponds all around!
The day flew by, but I got the camper loaded just in time to pick Hayden up, and get on the road!
3:30PM we are rolling down I77 yet again, down the turnpike, through the mountains, stop in Wytheville, Virginia to fuel up, get dinner, on through North Carolina into Society Hill, South Carolina!
11:11pm We made it! Camp Coker is at the Moree Sportsman club. Thankfully, they are still up at the gate and let us in!!
Our race families still have openings near them so we drive on in and set up! It is late so it wasn’t long and we are all in bed for the night! Luke and I were ready hours ago. Luke was a champ taking this long ride with the stomach virus.. thankfully, he didn’t vomit anymore after this mornings episode. He got whatever he ask for! .. He really didn’t ask for much, he just wants to feel better.
GOODNIGHT 💤
FRIDAY
Good Morning!!! ☀️The sun is shining bright! 63 degrees today.. feels pretty good in the sun!! A little cool in the shade, but we’ll take it!

It’s a beautiful morning to get a breakfast skillet going!! Well we slept in a little so I guess it’s more like brunch!? Hashbrowns, turkey sausage, onions, green pepper, fresh farm eggs, topped with cheese!

See Hayden’s fishing backpack in the background there… he’s over here wanting to fish and not eat.. Well .. tomorrow is race day so prepare first then the fun can begin! He might not be real happy about it, but he’ll be thankful later.. hopefully!
Luke is feeling so much better today!! He’s out playing and getting back to usual.. Making sure he’s refueling on Gatorade, fluids mainly.. maybe later we’ll try food! Luke and his buddies have been collecting giant pine cones for his fire ..

While David and I were getting food cooked, hanging out… the kids found a trampoline across the road.. I heard it was torn apart and the kids put it back together.. 😬

Looks like they did alright!? They got quite a few on there and it’s still holding up!
Lynlee is ready for a bike ride.. she loves it, but she is outgrowing the carrier now..

I’m trying not to complain because it is warmer than the last few races but it’s so in the middle.. It’s too warm for sweat shirts in the sun.. but need them in the shade..the wind is chilly.. it’s not really warm enough for short and t-shirts, yes we have them on but it’s not as warm as it looks!.. I thought we left Ohio where this is common to have 3 seasons in 1 day 😒 It is going to cool off tonight and be colder tomorrow with that lovely wind we’ve had all spring! Sooo might as well enjoy this!!
Race friends getting their ATV’s race ready for tomorrow! Matt, looks like you get all the kids… 😂 .. Really they are putting through the field … not going to throw any kids off or anything crazy!

A couple hours of relaxing at the camper, eating and then we are off to the ponds with these kiddos!
Hayden wanted this bait caster fishing pole that he don’t know how to use for Christmas.. David has spent more time working on this pole than anyone has fished with it!? I think it’s time to chuck it and get something you can use!!?
So Hayden and Luke are fighting over Luke’s Zebco 202 pole..
No Hayden, if Luke is fishing you can‘t take his pole !? When he’s done then maybe.. you’re the one that wanted this fancier pole, it’s on you to sit and figure it out!
as David is sitting there tangled up in fishing line from the bait caster..😂 If anyone has any tricks to this please let us know 😂
Lynlee has been enjoying the show chowing down on snacks..
the camper parked behind us offers me a chair to sit in.. tried holding Lynlee to see if she’d take a nap here.. she’s too busy to stay still here.. Thank you for lending us a chair!
Lynlee girl needs a nap and Luke is over fighting to fish so we head back to the camper.
Hayden biked the track with Bryson, Stratton, and some of his race friends earlier today. This afternoon David, Hayden, and the boys ride the track again!
The woods here are nice and clear.. the track is dry! Hayden is excited, he thinks the track will be awesome!

Meanwhile at the camper, Lynlee is coaxing her friends into sharing their donuts 🤣

It’s getting colder and time to go in early so we can be race ready in the morning!
Hayden wants to go back to his peanut butter oatmeal the night before his race.. so oatmeal it is… and then…

Finishing the night with a Keto Cake (Box cake mix🤭, I now have my own home bakery, BUT I ran out of time to bake fresh for us so we have to make due).. I did have leftover homemade white chocolate buttercream! and it is definitely not fancy like decoration! 😬😂 .. It’s pretty sad looking actually..but we are at the track, at least it is freshly box baked 😉

I would say for Keto and a box mix it wasn’t too bad!!
By the way we weren’t counting calories.. so yea Keto cake, regular sugar icing and ice cream… 🤷🏼♀️ I was mainly going for the Gluten Free!
Alright it’s been a nice day but time for showers and bed!!
GOODNIGHT 💤
SATURDAY
Good Morning!! ☀️ It is RACE DAY! Sun is shining bright again!! Temps in the low 60s, but the sun is warm! Looks like it will be nice until later this afternoon.. and then the usual is back.. cold and high winds 😒!
I’m up earlier today grilling bacon and cutting up strawberries .. Hayden has decided he wants to eat before the race today!? hmm… we’ll see how that goes! and Luke wants bacon! His appetite is coming back!

This kid and his hair all over the place..no he doesn’t care.. he says no sense in fixing it when your putting a helmet on... not an argument I’m willing to pick on! … warming up his hands this morning..

8:30AM Hayden on go mode and ready this morning! He is off to the start.
The rest of us gather up our snacks/drinks/toys.. everything we load up in our stroller unit to head out to the start. It is a little ways here, but not too bad! I like where we are this year, the middle of the start and finish .
All bundled up once again … We want SUMMER!!

We are standing at the end of turn 1.. there’s nice sand piles for Luke and Lynlee to play around while we wait for the start..

Once it is 9:30AM Lynlee is back in the stroller strapped in so I can watch the take off and she is safe. Luke is staying on top of the hill safely.

They say Prayer.. National Anthem …. and Teeeeeennnn Seconds!
Hayden is first around turn 1 and his first hole shot in the youth racing! AND 1st down the straight!!
And I turn around to a lady hanging onto the back of my stroller.. She’s been hit by an ATV that came through the banner in the center of turn 1! 😲😱 She is ok and thankfully it missed the stroller.. you can see me here on the left and the pile of people beside me..of coarse I see this photo a few days afterwards and become more scared..

I can’t believe I totally missed it and had no idea what was happening right beside me with all the commotion of atv’s taking off! Lynlee is in the stroller beside me on the same side as the pile up! 😳
Thankfully, everyone is ok and we head to the other side of the sand hill to wait for Hayden to come through..
Lap 1 checks in 1st!!! Wow, I’m super nervous .. maybe even more
nervous than when I don’t see him!? What is happening!? hmm.. I‘m waiting by the start to watch him come across a little motorcross section.. I must of missed him!? David says he is still in first, but I’m yet to see him..I dunno live shows him in first so I guess I missed him…. because there’s more blue stickers going by…
Ok I’ll wait out here for the next lap.. David says he’ll be coming again.. its 10:09 and the finish is little a ways across .. I don’t see him yet.. jez I must of missed him again I dunno? I never miss him coming through let alone 2 times!? I’m epic failing seeing Hayden race here, and this is a track you can see more of them than usual 🤷🏼♀️..
We start walking down the road towards the finish, the track is running along the road a little..turn around just in time! Oh there he is finally!! Flying down the straight around by the pond!! WOOOHOO! Ok now we gotta truck it with this double stroller to the finish!
Lap 2 coming around to check in 2nd!! Hung up in a rut at the finish area.. Ricky helps him out but all the top 6-7 were within a few seconds of each other.
Hayden checked in 6th, held it for lap 3! 3rd - 6th place are all within 30 seconds of each other!
2 lap card is out, 150s haven’t lapped them yet! It will be super close.. will he get white flag or checkered next lap!?
Less than a minute after checkered flag was thrown there he is! Finishing 7th out of 23 in his class!

and.. that’s the finish shot I got as I was taken out by a lady running by to get to her child!.. It’s ok, it seemed like she was pretty excited, all of us race moms understand that! She did apologize!
Pulled off the track with a smile and how good that felt to take off and hold 1st & 2nd half way through the race! He hasn’t been out front like that since the MXC2 in 2020!

Clean ATV for a 1 hour race.. David’s preferred kind of race..if he could choose the weather every time!
Then Hayden starts filling in the laps with his view.. he was almost to the finish when the 150s start lapping, he is on a tight section in the woods looking for a place to pull off to let them through when he was pushed into a tree by one of the top 3 that finished. Had to get off his bike and pull it back losing his 6th place position. Wreck less racing isn’t supposed to happen.. hope your proud of yourself out there. Thankfully, my son wasn’t hurt.
Anyway, we are so happy with his race today! A huge boost of confidence that he can get out there, and he CAN ride in the top 5. The top 6-7 kids are all within seconds of each other so there is no room for any mistakes!
A video clip David made after the race (sound on):
Stacy Mundy wasn’t able to make the race today.
Ken Hill Photography killed it!

After 2 hours of racing… it is…
1st Brycen Neal
2nd Walker Fowler
3rd John Glauda
I sat at the camper with Lynlee today.. she bundled up outside in the chair for a nap! No… cheeks aren’t red from the sun.. or being hot.. I’d say from the lovely wind!

After a full day of racing it’s time for the Stacyc race!! …
I’m having a fire, it’s too cold and windy to race today!
and no you aren’t going to change our fair weather racers mind! 😂… so a fire it is.. I think we all agree we need a fire to stay warm!

Every other year our trip to Camp Coker consist of pond swimming in the pond above! NOT today!
We also had neighbors that were leaving their trailer to stay at a hotel tonight. We shared our fire with them and a nice conversation about life in general with our kids. Their kids are teenagers so they were out and about with friends.
It’s getting later, and we want to head home early tomorrow, 7 hours of driving ahead! We pack up most things we won’t need in the morning.. grill, chairs, toys, and bikes to make morning a quick pack up and on the road!
GOODNIGHT! 💤
