Somehow, Someway, we are at the end of October already! The final GNCC of 2021!
This weekend we are headed a little different direction to Crawfordsville, Indiana for round 13 of the 2021 GNCC! This round is the race for the cure, supporting breast cancer 💖 Get your pink on for race day! There‘s a trick or treat for the kiddos and LoCash concert on Saturday night! Full of action!!

THROWBACK to Ironman 2019! Our first GNCC race! It was a cold, wet, muddy race weekend. Hayden raced his DRR 50 in the MXC3 class. He was running 3rd when his throttle messed up, kept going as much as possible to finish 5th out of 20 quads! That began our GNCC adventures.. 1 race and we were all hooked! It’s an addiction!
THURSDAY
We get the kids out of school a little early today as we know we are in for a 6 hour drive not including stops, and the gates close at 10 or 11pm. We want to be in and set up tonight..if not, you’ll never find a decent camping area. Every year Ironman gets bigger and bigger.. almost to the point its too much craziness.. at least for my style!! A lot more partying from spectators here.. there are partiers at every race but here it is NO secret all day long!! 🥳 My worry is the safety of kids riding their bikes around with all the day drinking, and campers are parked so tight here. I get anxious about it, but honestly we usually get good neighbors so it‘s NOT that bad in our area.
This will be our 3rd Ironman race, but the first in the youth class! Hayden loved the Micro track here so he’s pumped to run the youth.
9:30pm we roll through the gates… 😲 Wow.. the place is full!! The field we usually park in is slammed.. Thankfully, David had been talking to our race friends the Harpers and Weddles, hopefully we can park in their area.
We drive past the field we usually park in, past the finish back through another field area..I had no idea there were so many campers back in here! Never walked back into this area previous years.. I thought it ended at the finish! 🤷🏼♀️😂 We are in the back driving into a gravel lot 👏🏻 It is supposed to rain a good bit AGAIN so we are super happy to be in a gravel lot rather than the field!
We don’t have much to set up tonight.. level up, put the jacks down, and slides out.. It is a light rain/mist, cold! The camper says 60 degrees inside, with it being damp and dark it feels 🥶! Kick the furnace on and get ready for bed!
Goodnight! 💤
Good Morning!! .. it is cloudy..looking like a rainy cold day! 🌧

Now that it is daylight I can see where we are compared to what I remember of the track. I love this set up! By far better than camping in the field packed in with mud roads between us! Thanks for letting us squeeze in here!
It is a little cold out this morning, but sweatshirts and a jacket we’ll get a little time outdoors before the rain moves back in!
I cooked us a breakfast skillet on the grill .. it’s kinda like a brunch today by the time I got it going!
Sooo we thought it was a good idea to skip out on the camping rug.. we are parked in the gravel and all the rain, it’ll be better without it. AND then…. Lynlee decides to scoot, crawl, dig in the gravel and outfit #1 of the day is history! Those pants are now black and wet.. jacket is wet.. thankfully it was already black 🤷🏼♀️🤣

So here we are inside drying out the jacket with the hair dryer!
More rain is moving in this afternoon that isn‘t going anywhere through the night. David and Hayden take off to get the track biked before it gets too muddy.
Luke, Lynlee and I are staying warm and dry inside.. Cold, wet, rainy, end of October we end up hangin in the camper more than outside.. that makes it easier to put MoJo into storage!

It’s pretty dreary, yucky out there! The rain did clear off enough around 5:30pm David and I took the kids a walk in the stroller to check out the best way to walk to the start in the morning.. the stage is ready for LoCash tomorrow night!

It is about a 10 minute walk to the start..it’s a pretty flat and easy walk compared to some! So there isn’t much more action to add to our Friday..to sum it up by 7:00pm we were inside for the night as the rain came down..

I can’t sit and do nothing anymore today … I feel like its been a sssslllloooowww day inside more than outside 😩 That’s why I brought ingredients to make us GF brownies! 😋
We aren’t supposed to have these until tomorrow after the race but 🤷🏼♀️! And of coarse they want ice cream and hot cocoa to go with it all… that‘s a lot of carbs.. a lot of bad carbs.. 🤪

At least the camper smells like chocolate for a bit rather than wet mud.. yes, It is only Friday at 8pm and the hauler has wet/muddy clothes hanging everywhere! Everyone is at least on outfit #2 most are on #3 for the day 😅 I hope I brought enough extra!
WET MUD STANK 😜
We will have an early morning as the Youth race is at 8:00am tomorrow! Showers and bedtime it is.. after all that chocolate!
Goodnight💤
SATURDAY
6:00am RISE & SHINE IT’S RACE DAY!! Thankfully, the rain has moved out for the day and it actually feels pretty good outside this morning!
Hayden has his PINK jersey on, and PINK number plate thanks to Pro Graph-X! It is still dark this morning as he takes of to the line!

We are all up at the start as we watch the sunrise this morning.. its a beautiful morning!!

The race is delayed a few minutes as we wait for light to enter the woods…

Ricky says his prayer.. the National Anthem plays… and then Teeeennnn Seconds!!
8:15am the ATV 125‘s (8-12) are off!
Yay!!! That was a great start.. Hayden went into the woods 6th out of 29 quads! It is a muddy race, which he loves, and he loves this track here! He is really excited about the creek crossings.
There is a motorcross track here as well, the quads run across the bottom flat of the track, but not the jumps or hills. I walked over to watch them come out of the woods across the bottom over to the creek crossing.
Lap 1 he checks in 11th!
We walk on over by the finish so we can watch scoring.. this is another race the live doesn‘t work on our phones here.
Lap 2 he checks in 9th! … Yay, that’s awesome! We still have a ways to go..
Lap 3 checks in 7th!!!!!! So awesome!!
Lap 4 checks in 14th and white flag is out!…NOOOOooo what happened!? David calls and says he stalled his bike out during the creek crossing.. a few bikes passed him then.. they were all riding pretty close.
A little further up he had so much mud on his grips he couldn’t hold on .. he saw David and stopped for a minute to try to clean off enough mud to keep hold.

Lap 5 he finishes 13th!

Can’t believe 2021 is offically finished! Hayden is hoping he still made the top 10 for the year with that finish! The points are close!!
Back to the camper.. there‘s gear/clothes stripped in all directions.. Hayden is soaked clear through scibbies and all! He gets warm dry clothes on set #5 for the weekend!
We stopped by the Yamaha tent to grab some swag to get us through the winter.. $10 T-shirt's yay! #BluCru
We walk down pro pits to find Adam McGill. Hayden wants a sweat shirt.. we send him over to buy one. Hayden has his blue Yamaha hat on… McGill was laughing as he tells Hayden he can’t be wearing that hat with a McGill shirt! 🤣 Of coarse, Hayden thought that was awesome, and he wore the red McGill hoodie with his blue Yamaha hat the rest of the day.
We are off to check up on the 11am race. I like to watch the WXC .. I’m a Traci Pickens and Jessica Elioff fan! It is down to the final race to decide the WXC champion this year! Who is going to take the championship!? … Hannah Hurricane Hunter!
Next is the XC1 pro race.. Fowler has already claimed his 7th National Championship for 2021.. It’ll still be an awesome race to watch! Hayden wants to watch ironman hill so David takes off with Hayden on their bikes to watch.
Luke and Lynlee need to warm up.. lunch and TV time while I start cleaning..

There is an extreme amount of rain coming in early tomorrow morning..so we have decided it would be best to head home tonight! I wanted to start cleaning up the inside as much as I can.. the mud and the wet clothes are everywhere. Nothing is really drying with the cool dampness.
AND believe it or not next weekend the camper goes to storage for the winter 🥺
4:30pm we are packed up and on the road .. we are driving half way tonight, stopping at Tomorrow’s Star Campground in Ohio to avoid the rain.. hoping to get up, and get on the road to home before the heavy rain moves in on us!
8:00pm Soon as we back MoJo into the lot for the night.. there is the rain. Thankfully the lot was level and easy set up. We are all exhausted.. race days always take every bit of energy we have.. time for showers and bed!!
GOODNIGHT💤
Sunday morning we are all ready to get home, get the camper ready for storage, clean the race bike up... get ready to tear into the race bike to make a few changes for 2022!!
